The State of Illinois has undertaken the task of replacing the 30 year old Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) with the Illinois Medicaid Program Advanced Cloud Technology (IMPACT). The modernization of MMIS is expected to lead to improvements in member management, provider management and claims processing.
The current phase, Provider Enrollment, is scheduled to go live in July, 2015. The objective is to design and implement a Provider Enrollment system across all Illinois healthcare and human service agencies that utilizes a common data system and standardizes policies and procedures, to the extent possible, for enrolling and approving Medicaid service providers.
In February 2015, the IMPACT Provider Enrollment Communications team launched two monthly webinar series for state agency staff and service providers. The goal of the webinar series is to prepare state agency staff to use the new system and ready providers for any procedural changes related to provider enrollment in IMPACT.
